What Happens If You Do Not Appear

A civil traffic citation must be dealt with one way or another, whether you agree with the officer or not. Failing to handle it properly causes bigger problems than the original ticket.

According to Graham County's FAQ, if you fail to appear by your court date, the law says you will be deemed responsible by default. The fine is levied against you automatically. MVD will likely suspend your driver license. In criminal cases, a failure to appear charge is added. An arrest warrant shall be issued for FTA in criminal cases. If you do not pay the fine, MVD will also suspend your vehicle registration.

Note: Responding on time is always cheaper and simpler than dealing with the penalties from missing your court date.

Paying Graham County Traffic Tickets

If you cannot pay your fine in full, bring this to the attention of the judge or a clerk. Payment arrangements can be made through monthly installments. An additional $20 fee is added if you use a payment plan instead of paying in full.

Online payments are available through nCourt. You need your citation or case number to find your balance. The system accepts credit and debit cards with a convenience fee. You can also pay in person at either justice court location or mail a check or money order.

Paying your ticket means you accept responsibility for the violation. Points go on your driving record. If you want to contest the ticket or attend defensive driving school, contact the court before paying.
